IMG and the Pursuit of Ergonomic Excellence
Posted on Friday December 05, 2025

Nestled in Sykkylven, Norway - amidst steep mountains and deep fjords - Internasjonal Møbel Gruppe has built a reputation that blends Scandinavian soul with scientific precision. Their mission is clear: to engineer seating that doesn’t just look elegant, but truly supports the body in motion.

A part of the renowned Ekornes group reputed for their defining recliners, IMG doesn’t compromise. Each piece is born from a design philosophy that studies the human form - creating furniture that delivers body-correct ergonomics. The company’s Norwegian design centre designs, engineers, and tests every piece, ensuring essentials like strength, stability, and effortless function are never sacrificed.

Craftsmanship at IMG is a harmonious dialogue between heritage and innovation. They pair traditional building techniques with advanced technologies such as cold-cured molded foam, ultra-sonic wood lamination, and custom-designed steel frames. Each material is carefully selected to support posture, balance longevity with resilience, and encourage movement that’s smooth and natural.

Take, for example, IMG’s Nordic Recliners: these feature adjustable headrests with infinite comfort positions, a frictionless Comfort Glide™ system that lets you lean back just by shifting your weight, a ‘Just right’ headrest, and a 360° swivel for effortless rotation. Their freestanding footstools, crafted in cold-cured foam over steel frames, mirror this ergonomic sophistication.

IMG’s design philosophy challenges the notion that beauty and function must compromise. Their pursuit of ergonomic excellence makes each chair a sanctuary of stillness — a place for rest, health, and lasting comfort. And now, their pursuit has brought them to Simply Sofas – the latest and largest curated collection of award-winning European furniture – as the newest addition to the star-studded ensemble of the world’s best brands all under one roof.

A Journey Through The Legacy of Estro Milano
Posted on Wednesday December 03, 2025

Over 25 years, Simply Sofas has been synonymous with a celebrated ensemble starring the world’s best brands. The newest addition to this list of design’s elite hails from Milan, the world’s design capital – a brand known for its commitment to craftsmanship, tradition, and innovation.

Estro Milano’s story begins in the sun-drenched lands of Puglia, where in 1956, Giuseppe Sardone founded a humble, artisan workshop dedicated to creating elegant upholstered sofas, armchairs, and complements. But its roots stretch even further back, to the 18th century, when the Sardone family’s workshop crafted upholstery for the aristocratic elites of the Murgia region.

Today, Estro’s headquarters stand in Milan — a deliberate decision that marries its proud Puglian heritage with the refined traditions of Brianza’s woodworking ateliers. This union of south-Italian warmth and northern craftsmanship is what gives Estro Milano its distinctive voice: deeply crafted, thoughtfully designed, and unmistakably Italian.

At the heart of Estro Milano lies a commitment to innovation grounded in tradition. The team believes deeply in research-based design — forging collaborations, pushing boundaries, and creating pieces that feel both rooted and forward-looking.

Estro Milano is also deeply thoughtful about materials. Its leather selection comes from premier Italian tanneries that use sustainable and advanced production processes. Their fabric range, too, is rigorously tested, blending elegance with durability and offering infinite combinations for a unique personal style.

But beyond craft and material, Estro’s legacy is very much about people. The company describes itself as a family: a young, motivated team bonded by passion — working with the same care they would for family, believing that how they live with each other matters as much as how they build.

Now, the next stop in the brand’s journey takes it to Simply Sofas – the latest and largest curated collection of award-winning European furniture – and something tells us that they’re just getting started.

Centrepieces of Celebration: Dining Tables for Memorable Meals
Posted on Monday November 03, 2025

The dining table often takes centre stage in celebration – not just as a setting for a meal, but as the heart of connection and conversation. In European design, the table is a timeless symbol of togetherness – crafted to welcome, to anchor a space, and to enhance every gathering. Read on to explore five exceptional dining tables – each a masterpiece of craftsmanship – designed to turn the act of dining into an experience of enduring elegance.

To gather around a table with family is to create a moment of stillness in a world that rarely pauses. Hystrix, designed by Giorgio Cattelan, presents a refined interplay of strength and transparency. Its sculptural metal base – reminiscent of porcupine quills – creates a striking graphic rhythm beneath clear glass. Like a carefully arranged feast, every element is visible, celebrated, inviting guests to linger and savour.

A meal with family celebrates abundance of flavours, textures, and the warmth that comes from being surrounded by those we cherish. Pois Élite by Tonin Casa captures this spirit beautifully. Designed by Angelo Tomaiuolo and Ernesto Barbieri, its natural wood top paired with a pois-detailed metal base creates an artful interplay where materiality meets playful geometry – a balance of tradition and spontaneity that welcomes every gathering with generosity.

There is poetry in the act of raising a glass, of toasting to gratitude and good fortune. The Cop dining table by Bonaldo reimagines this ritual through design. Designed by Roberto Paoli, its striking metal base draws from the silhouettes of fine bottles, chalices, and champagne flutes – a poetic nod to the art of celebration itself. Topped in wood, ceramic, marble, or glass, Cop transforms every meal into an occasion, every gathering into a testament to connection.

Like the strong foundations upon which lasting memories are built, the Arc by Molteni&C speaks to enduring elegance. Its impactful base, inspired by modern architectural lines, is crafted from light cement – a material achieving both resilience and complexity. Available in four finishes with glass or marble tops, Arc grounds a space with quiet authority, holding the weight of conversation and laughter – a fitting symbol for a holiday rooted in celebration.

Every family meal is a symphony of movement – the passing of dishes, the reach across the table, the ebb and flow of stories shared. The Cyclone dining table by Calligaris captures this energy in form. Its striking central base in black, bronze, and pearl beige evokes swirling dynamism, bringing vitality to the dining experience. Around Cyclone, the table comes alive – not merely as furniture, but as the very stage upon which connection and celebration unfold.

For your next meal with family, let your dining table be more than a surface – let it be a statement of intention. From sculptural silhouettes to grounded materials and enduring forms, each of these tables transforms gathering into ritual, and ritual into memories held dear.

Luminous Living: Lighting for the Festive Season
Posted on Friday October 03, 2025

Lighting is more than just illumination - it’s emotion, rhythm, and presence. As the festive season approaches, whether it’s the gentle flicker of a lamp, the bold glow of a chandelier, or the elegant warmth of a floor light – lighting transforms a space into a stage set for celebration. Read on to explore how European lighting design makes your festivities shine brighter.

If celebrations call for grandeur, the Leaf Lampadario is the chandelier to crown the occasion. Designed by Emanuele Missaglia, its cascading etched glass leaves shimmer like jewels, reflecting light in golden or crystal tones. Whether in clear or 24K-coated glass, this chandelier feels less like lighting and more like a constellation suspended above your gathering.

For quieter corners or evenings steeped in warmth, Dreamy offers a softer kind of radiance. Designed by Davide Bozzini, this delicate hanging lamp resembles a dreamcatcher - a chromed metal frame embracing a glass diffuser, with wood details adding earthiness. Its light spreads like a hush through the room, perfect for dinners that linger long into the night.

Festivals are about colour, and Acquerelli brings it to light. With its layered glass lampshades in hues of milk white, petroleum, and amber, this lamp is like a watercolor painting come alive. Available as both table and suspension versions, Acquerelli adds character to living rooms and dining spaces alike, creating cheerful plays of light that echo the joy of the season.

For festive evenings that deserve a touch of theatre, Etoile transforms glass and light into constellations. Andrea Lucatello designed this lamp to be both sculptural and luminous, with bronze or golden mirror surfaces meeting transparent glass. Its starry presence turns any living space into a celestial stage, and turning every gathering into a celebration written in the stars.

Lively and elegant, Bon Ton embodies the spirit of gatherings. With glass globes clustered in transparent, amber, or smoked finishes, this suspended lamp feels in motion even at rest. Available in versions ranging from a single globe to eleven, Bon Ton can adapt to intimate or exuberant celebrations, always keeping the room alive with rhythm and light.

Festivities deserve a sense of occasion, and the Palazzo Ducale Lampadario delivers it with timeless grace. Engraved crystal elements and Murano glass arms create a chandelier that is both opulent and refined. Whether in rectangular or round form, it recalls palatial elegance - an ode to tradition, reborn for today’s homes as a true centrepiece for the best festive nights.

From chandeliers that dazzle to lamps that whisper warmth, the right lighting transforms every festive moment into something unforgettable. This festive season, let your lights set the mood, shape memories, and create a glow that lingers long after the celebrations.

The Warmth of Now: How Colour Is Bringing Soul Back to Contemporary Design
Posted on Monday August 04, 2025

Contemporary design is entering a richer, more emotive era - one where colour takes centre stage in shaping atmosphere, storytelling, and spatial identity. Gone are the days when cool neutrals and minimalist palettes reigned unchallenged. Today, designers are leaning confidently into the warmth and expressiveness of nature-inspired hues that feel both grounded and elevated.

Octave by Molteni&C
At the forefront of this shift are deep, verdant greens - spanning mossy botanicals, olive tones, and mineral-rich shades. These colours bring a quiet strength to interiors. Whether expressed through velvety upholstery, stone surfaces, or lacquered finishes, darker greens have the rare ability to soothe and anchor a space without overpowering it.

Zeus by Fama
These warm shades infuse rooms with a sense of calm and composure, offering a visually rich alternative to colder greys and stark whites. Their connection to the natural world makes them feel innately restorative, emotionally resonant, and unmistakably refined - Zeus by Fama, and Octave by Molteni&C being great examples.

Soul by NicolettiHome
Equally compelling is the rise of earth-toned reds and oranges - from the baked clay of terracotta to the deep glow of wine, oxblood, and burnt sienna. These shades are redefining what boldness looks like in the modern home.

No longer loud for the sake of contrast, these colours feel tactile and expressive, often appearing in soft velvets, brushed wools, or matte cabinetry. They evoke warmth and intimacy, balancing drama with elegance. Importantly, they nod to nostalgia without slipping into retro pastiche - for example, Soul by NicolettiHome reinterprets familiar hues through a contemporary lens, lending depth and complexity to any setting.

Montanaa by W.Schillig

Mustard, a colour with both history and freshness, is having a quiet renaissance as well. It enriches traditional silhouettes with a modern warmth - especially when used in natural materials like leather, wood, or ceramic. Mustard strikes a delicate chord between heritage and innovation, making it a standout shade in collections that blur the lines between past and present. The Montanaa by W.Schillig is a good instance of mustard being quite the eye-grabber.

Penelope by Natuzzi Italia

Even blue - long considered a staple - is shifting in its role. In this evolving palette, it’s no longer the dominant note but rather a grounding element. Soft navy, powder blue, or slate act as cool counterpoints to warmer hues, creating balance and contrast without stealing the scene. Penelope by Natuzzi Italia is an armchair that accents any living space with a cool counterpoint.

In 2025, colour is more than decorative - it’s directional. It creates mood, invites emotion, and helps shape the new language of modern luxury: one that’s warm, textural, and deeply human.

The Art of the First Impression: Statement-Making Accents
Posted on Thursday July 03, 2025

First impressions matter – and in interior design, it’s often the accent pieces that become instant focal points. From sculptural consoles and finely crafted cabinets to bold lighting and expressive side tables, these elements don't just complement a room — they define it. Thoughtfully designed and impeccably finished, our accent collection adds depth, character, and a touch of the unexpected to any space. Here are a few standout pieces that bring this philosophy to life.

The Artemide media console by Alf Italia is a testament to refined Italian craftsmanship and contemporary elegance. Characterised by its luminous high-gloss white lacquer, crisp architectural lines, and graceful glass detailing, this sleek entertainment unit includes a dedicated glass chamber for media storage. Designed to bring clarity, cohesion, and understated sophistication to the modern home, Artemide is the epitome of unmistakable Italian finesse.

The Dreamcatcher Red Soul mirror by Reflex is a captivating decorative accessory featuring delicate, hand-painted glass butterflies suspended in a radiant backlit frame. Evocative and ethereal, it casts a soft, ambient glow that adds a poetic touch to any interior. A perfect example of Venetian glasswork at its finest, it transforms light into emotion.

Designed by Luca Meda and Aldo Rossi for Molteni&C, Piroscafo is a refined shelving unit inspired by the glass façade of contemporary architecture. With fronts and drawers available in matte lacquer or glass, and interiors in elegant eucalyptus or lacquered finishes, it’s ideal for showcasing cherished possessions – bringing architectural grace to any living space.

Palazzo Ducale is a majestic suspension lamp combining engraved crystal elements with transparent Murano glass arms and pendants. Its smoked mirror support features intricate diamond engraving. Available in a rectangular version with 10 modular lights or a round version with 8, and a refined LED system – it merges Venetian artistry with contemporary illumination.

Designed by Foster + Partners for Molteni&C, the Vicino coffee table is a study in elegant engineering. Its slender marble or eucalyptus tops glide sideways with a concealed high-tech mechanism, combining versatility with sculptural grace. A lacquered steel frame – in red, pewter, or bronze – adds a bold, architectural edge, making Vicino both a functional and aesthetic centrepiece.

The Avantgarde bar cabinet is a striking fusion of craftsmanship and contemporary luxury. It features a glass bar counter available in extra-clear, bronze, smoked, or Vienna-patterned glass, with optional LED lighting and cooled bottle holder. The wall unit comes in lacquered wood, smoked mirror, or Canaletto walnut with bevelled glass accents. With open shelving and push-pull doors, this refined bar cabinet is luxury redefined for the modern connoisseur.

True refinement lies in restraint. These accent pieces don’t demand attention – they earn it through craftsmanship, clarity, and character. Curated well, they bring coherence and refinement to contemporary interiors, and help you make that lasting first impression.

World Environment Day and a Commitment to Conscious Craftsmanship
Posted on Thursday June 05, 2025

World Environment Day serves as a poignant reminder of humanity's collective responsibility towards the environment. The intersection of luxury and sustainability represents not a compromise, but rather an evolution in conscious design philosophy. To honour this evolution, we spotlight European furniture of exceptional elegance crafted to endure.

Terra by Natuzzi Italia, designed by Marcantonio, is a compelling example of sustainable design with character. Its innovative structure is entirely frameless, filled with padding derived from wheat rather than polystyrene - a bold move toward biodegradable design. Natural fabric upholstery and softly curved arms that double as handles complete its tactile charm. In every detail, Terra is effortlessly elegant, functional, and respectful of the resources it draws from.

Winner of the Red Dot Award 2020, Eolo Pureti by Ezpeleta is more than a parasol - it’s pure innovation in environmental design. Treated with photocatalytic nanotechnology, the umbrella actively purifies the air, mimicking the natural detoxifying action of trees. Activated by sunlight and humidity, its fabric neutralises harmful urban pollutants, ensuring cleaner air. With the same anti-pollution benefits as planting two trees per parasol, Eolo Pureti transforms patios into spaces of wellness.

Elegant in form and thoughtful in construction, the Vela chair by Calligaris blends refined design with environmental integrity. Its ash wood frame is FSC® certified, ensuring it comes from responsibly managed forests that meet strict environmental and social standards. Lightweight, ergonomic, and effortlessly stylish, Vela is as comfortable as it is conscientious – a versatile choice for contemporary spaces where sustainability and design coexist with ease.

The Town chair by Ezpeleta exemplifies smart, sustainable design in a sleek and stackable form. Crafted from fibreglass-reinforced polypropylene, it is 100% recyclable while its lacquered aluminium frame and anti-UV properties ensure lasting durability against the elements. Stylish, practical, and eco-conscious, Town proves that everyday furniture can be both design-forward, sustainable, and environmentally responsible — a perfect union of form and function at its best.

Combining classic inspiration with contemporary sensibility, Daiquiri and Marlene by NicolettiHome embody refined comfort and enduring style. The Daiquiri sofa offers clean lines, plush seating, and sculptural armrests, while the Marlene armchair reimagines the 19th-century bergère with a high back and wraparound form. Upholstered in 100% recycled and recyclable Reviva® fabric, these bestsellers reflect NicolettiHome’s renewed commitment to sustainability.

As we mark the occasion of World Environment Day, we celebrate furniture that not only elevates our spaces but also respects the environment. Through enduring craftsmanship, responsible materials, and thoughtful innovation, these pieces reflect a future where sustainability and design co-exist — proving that beauty lasts longer when built with care.

Comfort, Care, and Everything In Between for the Woman Who Does It All
Posted on Friday May 09, 2025

Motherhood is a masterclass in multitasking – moving through days with quiet resolve. It’s not about grand gestures, but the daily ones: balancing commitments, keeping things on track, offering support before the rest of the world has even caught up. This Mother's Day, we celebrate motherhood in the way we know best — by offering moments of retreat through pieces that invite her to pause, reconnect, and be cared for, on her own terms.

The social engine of the family, the formidable glue that holds all ties together, deserves a sprawling sectional sofa that can keep up. One with adjustable headrests, support, and leather that says, "Indulge, woman." Perfect for hosting lively gatherings and unwinding in style when the day is done.

As the family therapist, and perhaps the only one who laughs at Dad’s jokes, she deserves a recliner as her personal reset button. A place that quietly wraps around her - no questions, no chaos, just comfort - fulfilling her desire to step away from the beautiful daily dramas her family stages, so she can watch her favourite TV show in peace.

She can hop on five Zoom calls, solve three puzzles, and still make it look like an unrushed weekday. Her downtime? Just as flexible. Whether she’s half-watching a show, mid-scroll, or mid-nap, her favourite spot bends to the moment. It’s the unofficial co-host of her rare afternoon off, and it knows exactly when to lean in or lie back.

Sure, she now likes the news a bit earlier, her tea a bit stronger, and wants help carrying the heavy groceries, but her taste? Still flawless. The right power recliner gives her a little help whenever she wants it — while keeping every inch of her space just as sharp and stylish as she likes it. A firm nod to the fact that true style doesn’t age — it just evolves.

Sometimes, a cup of tea, uninterrupted moments of sunshine, scrolling, and solitude are all she wants. A sun lounger (as tough as her) offers the perfect spot for her to unwind, recharge, and bask in her break. It's the escape she didn’t know she needed — and, frankly, won't be sharing.

Mothers are a beautiful balance of strength, tenderness, and everything in between. It is only fitting that the spaces of comfort we create for her reflect just that. Wouldn’t you agree?

Posted on Monday April 14, 2025

As Milan Design Week 2025 reached its crescendo, the city buzzed with ideas exploring our connection to space, material, and nature. This year's theme, “Mondi Connessi” or Connecting Worlds came alive at MDW2025 through cross-cultural collaborations and boundary-blurring designs that bridged global perspectives.

Here are a few moments that stayed with us:

DAY 6
Inspired by Ruffino’s Riserva Ducale Oro, the project returns with a renewed vision—where the table becomes a stage for wine, design, and creativity.

Against War. 7 Designers for Emergency at Triennale Design Museum presents EMERGENCY’s unwavering stance against conflict, brought to life through deeply evocative objects created by seven designers invited by Giulio Iacchetti.

Natuzzi’s Memoria bed by Karim Rashid fuses Italian craftsmanship with smart innovation, offering motorised headrests and footrests for tailored comfort.

Meet Mooove by Koinor – winner of the German Design Award 2025 – a sculptural sofa that splits into two swivel, rock, and glide-ready seats, all controlled by two intuitive levers.

DAY 7
Since the 1970s, Ezpeleta’s beach umbrellas and terrace parasols have been a staple of Spanish leisure. As they mark their 90th anniversary, they carry forward a lasting legacy in outdoor living.

Ugo Rondinone’s summer moon, cold moon, spring moon, singing moon (2011) was part of his long-running series of white-painted aluminum olive tree sculptures.

A crowd favorite at the Koinor booth, the Phoenix sofa offers versatile seating styles with adjustable headrests, seats, and armrests - designed to rotate, swivel, and move.

Disguised as an armchair, Paradis Moon by Fama reveals a hidden bed - blending comfortable seating with a plush retreat.

The final showcase - a heartfelt close to a week of reflection, reinvention, and reconnection.

As Milan Design Week 2025 wraps, one truth stands tall: great design doesn’t just shape objects - it reshapes how we live, feel, and connect. Materia Natura reminded us that the future lies in harmony -  with nature, with material, with meaning.

Day 3 at MDW 2025: The Design Dialogue Continues in Milan
Posted on Thursday April 10, 2025

As we find ourselves approaching the midway point into the 63rd edition of Milan Design Week, the world’s design capital feels like a living archive – each district layered with ideas, textures, and voices. On Day 3 of the world’s premium design event, we saw a shift — from statement pieces to quieter, more intentional work — and a deeper focus on storytelling.

We started off the day by visiting the Fama booth, where we saw their new fabric sofas, combining soft textures with soothing shades and new chic prints. While the sofas in different hues offer a soothing palette and plush seating that enriches any living space, Fama’s printed sofas inspiredfrom Javier Mariscal’s art offer a canvas of comfort where textile meets imagination in every stitch.

Next up, we visited the Koinor booth where we came across their collection of designs that help in unwinding effortlessly while wrapped in elegance. While their rocking armchairs bring motion and relaxation into perfect balance, their sofas unite sleek design with cutting-edge technology – a true celebration of artful silhouettes meeting expressive hues in harmony.

We then visited the Natuzzi stall where we stumbled upon their new Mindful 365 sofas. These sofas implement their state-of-the-art triple motion mechanism and “365” seating system to nurture complete relaxation for the mind and body – while ensuring the perfect balance between breathing and heart rate for holistic wellness. We then moved on to the NicolettiHome installation where we experienced their new recliners featuring fully adjustable headrests – courtesy of a mechanism that supports both forward and backward motion.

Sofas continued to steal the spotlight on Day 3, as we discovered a plethora of sofas that combine heritage with innovation. Modular muses in motion, shaped by softness and stillness – we saw NicolettiHome sofas featuring plush cushioning and adjustable backrests for complete relaxation, followed by pieces from Pianca and Calia Italia that were the definition of sleek silhouettes and thoughtful craftsmanship – thoroughly engineered for personalised comfort.

Next, we visited the Alf outfit where we came across their desks and dining tables – while their desks designed for focus support clarity without compromising on design, their lacquered tables strike a perfect balance between shine and structure. We capped off the day by visiting the Jaked x Connubia collaboration outfit – a lightweight and sustainable piece inspired by the fluidity of athletic movement, and which is perfect for any setting – from the living room to the gym.

As the third day of Milan Design Week 2025 came to a close, it was clear that the conversation around design is deepening. The focus has shifted from the purely visual to the conceptual — where craft, context, and cultural narrative take center stage. Stay tuned on our socials and website as you bring you all the LIVE updates you need from the world’s greatest design event.

Day 1 and 2 at MDW 2025: The Best of Design at Milan So Far
Posted on Tuesday April 08, 2025

The 2025 edition of Milan Design Week unfolded with a quiet intensity - a city rich in design history opening its doors once again to innovation, dialogue, and experimentation. From meticulously curated exhibitions to spontaneous encounters with form and material, Day 1 set the tone for what’s ahead - especially courtesy of our visit to the Superdesign Show which featured design ideas reimagined in an unprecedented manner.

As Milan Design Week 2025 moved into Day 2, the design dialogue only intensified. With each installation buzzing with the spirit of discovery, today's showcase offered a deeper dive into the evolving language of design - where form meets function, function meets freedom, and innovation continues to challenge the expected.

Beginning our journey on the second day, we found ourselves at Museo Poldi Pezzoli – where we came across Molteni&C flaunting their Letters to Milan installation. Since 1934, Molteni&C have exemplified innovation in design, and the Letters to Milan collection curated by Studio Klass represented a celebration of the city’s history and design evolution over the years. Continuing to explore the Museo Poldi Pezzoli, we then came across the latest edition of Gio Ponti Objects – a heartfelt tribute to the legacy of the legendary Milanese design maestro Gio Ponti.

Moving on, we reached the heart of Milan where we came across Palazzo Molteni, a flagship store housing state-of-the-art designs that combine tradition with transformation. The urban pavilion redefines the boundaries of design, expanding the scope of an eclectic discipline that has been shaped by cross-pollination and forward-thinking ideas. Inspired by the fusion of heritage and innovation on display, we went over to Studio Penta next.

At Studio Penta, we came across “Romantic Brutalism: A Journey into Polish Craft and Design” – an exhibition by the Visteria Foundation serving as a tribute to Poland’s craft and creativity. The exhibition – including the Marcin Rusak Studio and an installation dedicated to Agnieszka Owsiany – was testimony of how the historical influence of brutalism, romanticism, folk, and art deco continues to shape contemporary Polish design.

Moving on, we visited the NicolettiHome installation where we came across sofas that reimagine the concept of comfort as we know it – helping achieve unparalleled relaxation just at the push of a button.

We continued our course through couches as we visited the Koinor installation, where we came across sofas that provide an exceptional element of versatility courtesy of its unprecedented convertible arm and leg rest.

Lastly, we visited the Fama installation where we saw their fabric recliners exemplify a fusion of fashion and flexibility, with its chic, fashionable upholstery adding an element of style to the art of relaxation.

With the beginning behind us, the tone for this year’s edition of the world’s premium design event has been set. We’ve seen plenty, and yet it feels like the surface has only just been scratched. The journey ahead is full of possibilities, and we’re just getting started – make sure to stay tuned on our socials and website as you bring you all the LIVE updates you need.

MDW 2025: The Best of Superdesign

As the doors swung open, the global design community converged amidst bold ideas, striking installations, and future-forward concepts that reimagine the way we live and interact with our spaces.

Starting it all off, Day 1 took us to the Superdesign Show in Milan, where we explored the unseen future of living spaces, and witnessed tradition give way to transformation in real time. Designs sculpted harnessing technology and keeping the future in mind stole the show on the opening day, and set the tone for what’s to follow over the next week.

Design and water beautifully combined in Geberit’s Where Water Meets Design – an immersive experience that celebrates and harnesses the essence of water into innovation. We then came across OneFabrica’s One-fab objects “f(x) = ? ” – an innovative, and sustainable technology crafting reusable and eco-friendly structures from aluminum pipes and fabric.

More innovation followed as we came across Light Bites from Habits – luminous, interactive tableware that uses lighting to add a performative element to the art of dining, while Artphabetable by Daniele Cema, a low table composed of an ensemble of small canvases brought the disciplines of art, graphics and design together in an unprecedented manner.

Next up, we saw KALD Studio’s SurfBench – a bench that redefines seating as we know it, harnessing kinetic energy into a smooth, wave-like motion without motors or electricity. We then moved on to Carla Tolomeo’s L’albero della vita, a surreal work of art that serves as a metaphor for the constant renewal of existence, before we stumbled upon Niklas Jacob’s Funnyture – a furniture collection that explores the boundaries between design and communication by prioritising artistic expression.

Next, we came the Unforgettable exhibition curated by Giulio Cappellini and Leonardo Talarico, a celebration of the spontaneous way of living design – following which, we came across Elizabeth – The Queen Of Bowls by United Pets, an elevated pet bowl featuring an Elizabethan collar with a pop identity.

Lastly, we saw “A-Un” and “Discover Together” from Lexus - two compelling statements on the ever-evolving potential value of individual experiences through vehicles – while the former explored the relationship between software and humans alongside the future of mobility, the latter emphasises “co-creation” with creators, featuring a number of interactive and collaborative works of art.

Day 1 of Milan Design Week 2025 was a testament to how design continues to evolve, challenge convention, and shape the way we experience the world. As the week unfolds, we look forward to uncovering more ideas that redefine possibilities – stay tuned for all the LIVE updates you need.
